BALOO and Outdoor Leader Skills

When: Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 8 a.m. thru Sunday, April 9th at 11:30.

Where: Camp De Soto

Cost: $35 per person - This covers food and material costs of the training.

Requirements: BSA Registered Adult, Youth Protection

Supplemental training recommended:  First aid and CPR, Safe Swim Defense, and Safety Afloat.

Learning Objectives: 

By completing this training course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Explain the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA camping program.
  2. Demonstrate the skills and confidence necessary to plan and carry out a successful, first-time Cub Scout-level camping activity.
  3. Describe the resources available from the BSA and other sources to carry out this activity.
  4. Discuss the requirements for successful completion of this activity.

Equipment needed: Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad or mattress or cot, pillow, personal hygiene, clothing for indoor and outdoor classes, drinking cup/bottle, mess kit, day pack, rain gear, hiking shoes/boots
